Its been a while since my last ‘Meet Series” post, but this one was worth waiting for, if I do say so myself.
In this post, I interviewed and photographed Valeria, whom I’ve known for about 2 years now. I always knew I wanted to photograph Valeria, there is something about her that I wanted to capture. Fortunately, she was all for it.
We wanted the photoshoot to be fun and relaxed, with no one but ourselves directing it. Valeria pulled it off with her gorgeous hair + makeup and cool outfits. Besides being photogenic, Valeria is a talented writer & amazing foosball player. You can catch her adventures at her blog (you wont regret it). As always, we did some Q&A that you can read below. Are you satisfied creatively? If so, why or why not?
I think being satisfied creatively is more of a never-ending journey or a repeating cycle, rather than a journey with a set destination. Even if I reached a point of complete creative satisfaction, I’d picture myself quickly moving on and wanting more or wanting to move on to the next thing that’ll make me feel creatively satisfied. So, yes and no. I say yes because I strive to find creative satisfaction daily (be it through my writing or even just through finding a really awesome picture on Tumblr and reblogging it), and no because I’m always searching for more.
Life motto?
I’m not sure if it counts as a life motto, but there’s a quote I like to remind myself to try to live by. It’s a short excerpt from Jack Kerouac’s book “On the Road” (one of my favorite books): “The only people for me are the mad ones, the ones who are mad to live, mad to talk, desirous of everything at the same time, the ones who never yawn or say a commonplace thing, but burn, burn, burn, like roman candles across the night.”
Who are your biggest influences?
Well, my parents obviously. I’m a lot of what I am because of them. And maybe Tyrion Lannister.

Right now, Lane 8’s “Hot as You Want.”
Current obsessions?
I’m currently obsessed with the TV series “Parks and Recreation.” I can’t stop watching. I’m also obsessed with
make up, puppies, my blog and Game of Thrones.
If you could travel anywhere tomorrow where would it be?
I would travel to India or Thailand. I’ve always been drawn to their respective culture and cuisine!
Last favorite movie you watched, and why?
I feel like I have so many favorite movies. It’s hard to just pick one, but I’ve watched “World War Z” like 20 times since I first saw it at the movie theater. It’s not even really a top, all-time favorite movie, but I can watch it over and over and over. I’m kind of intrigued and really drawn to anything that has to do with zombies, so I’d credit that for the over-indulgence I’ve had on that movie.
Advice to 16 year old you?
None of this is permanent. None of this is as big of a deal as everyone makes it out to be. Never stop dreaming big. Also, it’s not the reason or the depth of the fall that defines you, but rather the way you manage to climb yourself out of the pit.
