We recently had the opportunity to work on an exciting project, involving the initiative of our friend Johnny Alarcon. Johnny is the founder of We Run 915, a company that fuels positivity & action in the city of El Paso, Texas. In Johnny’s words, it’s “Doing whatever it is you do in El Paso to the best of your ability, and making this city something greater and greater everyday.” With that said, who wouldn’t be excited to create an identity for this brand.
Upon meeting with Johnny, he mentioned that he “… wanted a piece of familiarity with the star and the mountains, [without shoving it] into the faces of consumers. Something … clean and contemporary with a classic vibe, without looking too serious. Exciting, clean, nostalgic and optimistic.”
We were on board, and fortunately for us, Johnny is great to work with. For this project, we explored handwritten type, a rusty look, along with minimal type and shapes.
We leave you with our process.
First, we like to begin by creating a mood board for the client, so that we are both on the same page for the feel of the brand.
Then, come the sketches and ideas.
& after a couple options and rounds, the chosen logo. 🙂 (image courtesy of werun915.com)
